We did these images over two little mini sessions as the boys were at school for the first session and I am so glad Mum & Dad came back to bring the boys as some of those images are my new fav’s!

We had originally planned to do a family outdoor session but the rain had different plans for us. So we decided to do a studio session instead and I think we made the right choice, as even in my small studio Max & Tyler were constantly on the go running, laughing, jumping !!

Andrea is an amazing wedding photographer who I love and respect so very much – so to be asked to shoot her family session was a gobsmacking honour!!

Trying to juggle both our busy schedules and the dam weather was a mission but we finally got there and headed out to a sugar cane property to have some fun.

Tanya who is the eldest daughter and lives in London with her boyfriend Andy found me on good old google some many months ago to book in a surprise family portrait session for her Mum’s 50th Birthday. Anyway after many emails and working out dates we finally booked it in. When Tanya arrived home one of the first things she wanted to do was tell her Mum Zelka the big surprise everyone had got together and organised and to show her my website so she could see who was going to be taking their family portraits. When Tanya showed Zelka my website she couldn’t believe it – Zelka already knew who I was and knows both my girls as they attend the primary school where Zelka works and Zelka had wanted me to do their family portraits last time Tanya was home but just didn’t get around to organising it. So bizarre and such an awesome coincidence

So off we headed to Currumbin Beach for an early morning shoot and boy did we have fun and seriously my job was easy ~ this family is gorgeous!!!

This family session was so much fun, we had so many giggles, silly moments and times where we were literally bending over from laughing so hard and when the Free Hug sign came out – well that started us laughing all over again!

The light was golden, the weather perfect – the afternoon went by so quickly.

We were just about to finish up and headed to the red wall that I had been eyeing off for awhile and then the laughs started all over again.

We had so much fun and little Maya had me cracking up with her little cute ways and her never ending curousity of looking at everything around her.

The sun was shining bright when we first started this gorgeous family session but within 20 mins the clouds came over and the wind picked up. Luckily we had managed to get most of the family images taken before the sky turned grey so we headed out to the windy beach to have some fun.

Nilissa had been thinking about this for awhile and had a clear vision on the types of images she would like of herself ~ nothing to sexy, nothing to out there ~ she wanted simple, elegant and mostly head/shoulder type of shots so that in the years to come she would have something to look back on.

Alicia & Troy kept this a total secret to everyone except their closest friends and me (yep how special do I feel) they even kept it a secret from their kids right up until the morning of their wedding.

They have been together for nearly 12 years but just haven’t gotten around to sealing the deal or if you ask Troy ~ Alicia has been on trial LOL (Alicia being on trial was a regular joke even being mentioned in their beautiful vows that Troy can’t say that Alicia is on trial anymore hehehe)

Having already had the pleasure of taking their family portraits, I was ever so excited when Alicia and Troy asked me to photograph their special day at Fingal beach..

I had my challenges in front of me photographing on the beach in the early afternoon, it was quite windy, Troy has sensitive eyes so he had to leave his glasses on for most of the afternoon, but honestly once they were all standing together I forgot all about those little challenges and got lost in the moment with them.

Abbey was such a little princess so proud to be standing next to her Mum and all dressed up, Zac struggled to relax at first but by the time the ceremony was over he was directing me hehehe and little Kye was only interested in the sand and was happy just to sit and dig and play while all around him his Mum & Dad were sealing their love forever.

This wedding was beautiful, intimate, special and all about them as a family unit…….Thank you so much Alicia & Troy for inviting me to be apart of your special day ~ I loved every minute of it ♥♥♥
